Job Summary

Main Duties of the Job
The Senior Social Worker will work at the forefront of community mental health treatment teams in the Mid Essex area (Braintree / Maldon) providing EPUT’s secondary mental health services. The role requires individuals to think with a positive and forward-thinking attitude, putting the needs and safety of service users at the heart of everything.
The role offers independent professional freedom while working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as a Senior Social Worker within community mental health treatment teams, providing high-quality assessment and intervention to service users experiencing a wide range of mental health problems. The role promotes recovery and independence using Mental Health Care clusters to identify appropriate pathways and treatment plans.
The post holder will support strength-based and asset-based approaches promoting recovery and social inclusion with individuals and families. The role involves implementing the personalisation agenda through strengths-based assessments and delivering statutory social care duties under the Care Act (2014).
Following appointment, the post holder is required to actively practice as an AMHP (subject to qualification if not already an AMHP and completion of required training). The role includes participation in the Area AMHP rota, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and related work, and engaging with carers to ensure appropriate action is taken within legislation.
