Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of a Senior Health Care Support Worker within the Cardiology Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children.
This role is for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic, and approachable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is willing to participate in ongoing learning.
All roles are assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship where criteria are met.
Duration, Location & Working Pattern
- Part-time role (34.5 hours)
- Rotational shifts including day and night shifts over 7 days
- Based at the Royal Hospital for Children
- Salary is pro rata for part-time hours
Key Responsibilities
Work within Ward 1E, a 14-bedded inpatient ward providing national cardiology care for children and young people across Scotland, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Knowledge, Training & Experience Required
- SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Previous child care experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Willingness to undertake training and become competent within 6 months in:
- Recording Vital Signs
- Pressure Area Care
- Nasogastric Feeding
- Gastrostomy Feeding
- Moving and Handling
