About the Role

This role provides the opportunity to broaden skills and experience further while working a rolling rota that includes evenings, nights, and weekends.

Working patterns include:

  • Weekday evenings with two social workers on shift
  • Weekend daytime and night cover across structured shifts
  • Rolling 7-week rota including two weeks off in every seven weeks

The role includes unsocial hours working, including night and weekend shifts.

To be appointed to this role, the following are required:

  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (Adults and Childrenโ€™s)
  • Completion of ASYE year (if qualified after 2012)

Additional Information

Gloucestershire County Council welcomes applications from newly qualified and early-career social workers. Depending on experience and qualification date, candidates may join the ASYE programme or an alternative early-career development pathway.

Sponsorship may be available subject to Home Office guidance and pre-employment checks. Applicants must already hold a valid right to work in the UK that can be transferred.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for most roles, combining remote and office working.
