Job Overview

This is a rare Attendance Officer role in a secondary school setting.

Lift Broadlands is a small secondary school in Keynsham, providing a nurturing environment for students aged 11โ€“16. It is led by Principal Laura Stone, who is committed to ensuring every student has access to an excellent education, in every classroom, every day.

Role Purpose

The Attendance Officer plays a key role in promoting high levels of attendance across Lift Broadlands, ensuring students have the best possible chance of success in their education.

Working as part of the Pastoral team, the role involves:

  • Administering and tracking attendance across the school
  • Supporting students with poor attendance through intervention strategies
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring staff and parents work together effectively to improve attendance at both individual and whole-school level

What Lift Broadlands Is Looking For

Lift Broadlands is looking for a candidate who:

  • Has proven experience entering high volumes of data with strong administrative accuracy
  • Can analyse data and use it to support decision-making
  • Has strong communication skills and can engage effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Ideally understands legislation relating to attendance, welfare, child protection, and external agencies supporting attendance in education
  • Has experience working within an educational setting (desirable)
