Role Summary

A professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Officer is required to help provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Security Officer will act as a visible presence across campus, responding to incidents and emergencies, conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV and security systems, controlling access to buildings, and supporting the safety and wellbeing of the University community.

The role also involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining accurate records, supporting emergency evacuations, and working closely with colleagues and emergency services when required.

Essential Criteria

Previous security experience or experience in a role with transferable skills
GCSE English Language (or equivalent)
Current SIA Security Guarding and/or Door Supervision Licence
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure
Experience maintaining accurate records and reports
Working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018
Understanding of PACE 1984 and SOCPA 2005
